Week 4

Monday

Started off the week meeting with employees from various tech companies, including eBay, Amazon, and Dell, and discussed the growing tech industry here in Utah.

 

Tuesday

Today, Rep. Dunnigan attended a luncheon for the Workforce and Economic Development Advisory Board and discussed job opportunities available for the formerly incarcerated.

Wednesday

An exciting Business and Labor Committee meeting took place this morning, where we heard four bills about alcohol regulation.

Thursday

Today, Rep. Dunnigan met with the Consulate General of Canada, Stéphane Lessard, and discussed strengthening Utah’s relationship with our northern neighbor.

 

 

It was also Tech Day on the Hill today! Rep. Dunnigan stopped by his nephew’s booth for his tech business, UtiliSync.

 

Friday

Today, Rep. Dunnigan spoke with teachers from David Gourley and West Kearns Elementary School and shared ideas about improvements and goals in the education system for this year.

 

Week 3

Monday

Rep. Dunnigan joined by his 10 year old nephew, Bryce, on the House Floor today.

Tuesday

Great day meeting with members of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, each who told their own experiences with the life-threatening genetic disease and shared their thoughts on how Utah can improve funding for health care programs.

Wednesday

Rep. Dunnigan discussing issues that can impact small businesses at a conference for NFIB, America’s leading small business association.

Thursday

Discussing his Consumer Reporting Agency Fees bill, which changes the process by which consumer reporting agency can place security freezes on credit accounts.

 

 

Today, Rep. Dunnigan conducted an exciting Business and Labor Committee meeting. Topics on the agenda were: suicide prevention training and post-employment restrictions.


Friday

Today, Rep. Dunnigan presented his Occupational and Professional Licensing Amendments on the House Floor.

Week 2

Monday

Rep. Dunnigan loves being joined by his grandchildren on the House Floor. Today, he was joined by 2 year old granddaughter, Olive.

Tuesday

Rep. Dunnigan giving a tour of the Capitol to the Cub Scout Webelos from Taylorsville.

Wednesday

Rep. Dunnigan meeting with the westside mayors and legislators to discuss how to improve Utah cities.

 

Thursday

Today, Rep. Dunnigan had the privilege of meeting with a representative of Shen Yun, a non-profit performing arts group from China.

Friday

Rep. Dunnigan meeting with legislators to discuss modifications and improvements in the Utah Insurance Code. Being an owner of his own insurance firm, Rep. Dunnigan is dedicated to helping small business owners succeed.

2018 Legislative Session Week 1

Monday

At the opening ceremony of the 2018 legislative session with my wife Vicki, son Jason, and grandson Nixon.

 

Tuesday

On the House Floor, discussing important policy changes outlined in my fireworks bill.

Wednesday

Fun day at the Capitol spent with the children and teachers from Terra Linda Elementary School, including my daughter Jill, a teacher’s aide, and granddaughter Brielle, a student. Brielle was able to take some time out of her class tour to come sit with me on the House Floor.

 

 

Thursday

At a press conference, discussing my bill that aims to guarantee workers a fair process when seeking a claim of discrimination against their employer.

Friday

Today, I had the privilege of having one of my constituents, 10 year old Landon Fugal, sit with me on the floor. It was his lucky day as he received two fun gifts: an honorary legislative pin from me and a dinosaur hunting license from Representative Chew.

October 2017 Newsletter

Our hard work to get a Medicaid Waiver approved for our state has paid off. Also there is a potential that the Winter Olympics may be hosted by Utah again. Have a wonderful holiday season!
